FBI: Rosebud Reservation Homicides Unrelated

ROSEBUD, S.D. (AP) – The FBI says two homicides on the Rosebud Sioux Reservation within about 12 hours of each other Sunday and Monday are “totally separate” cases and are unrelated.

Initial reports said the deaths were Fri and Sat, but FBI spokesman Kevin Smith says 48-year-old Lloyd Walking Eagle was fatally shot near a gas station in Rosebud Sun afternoon while 21-year-old Joshua Bordeaux was found beaten to death the next morning in the South Antelope community.

Rosebud Sioux Tribal Police Captain Iver Crow Eagle says suspects are in custody, but have not been charged by federal prosecutors with the motives for the crimes not yet known.
