Federal, State Workers Getting Christmas Eve Off

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) – Nebraska state workers will not only get Christmas Day off, they’ll get Christmas Eve off as well. That’s because President Trump has given federal workers paid time off for Christmas Eve and Nebraska law requires the state to follow suit.

Governor Pete Ricketts made the official announcement Wednesday. There are exceptions for law enforcement, security, military, and other workers engaged in essential functions.
