Five New COVID-19 Cases Among CSC Students, But Still Just 22 Active Cases

        Five more students at Chadron State College have tested positive for COVID-19, but another 4 students and 1 staffer were reported Friday as having recovered.

It’s the second straight day with 5 new positives at the college and follows a day with 6 recoveries. 

       Chadron State currently has 22 active cases, 19 students and 3 staff members. There have been 113 total cases at the school, 94 students and 19 employees.

      The Chadron Public Schools have added a 3rd active case, a middle school student or staff member, while the high school has the other 2. The district has had 29 total confirmed cases and has 16 individuals currently out under quarantine.

      Panhandle Unified Command reported 3 more COVID-19 deaths on Thursday, one each in Dawes, Box Butte, and Grant Counties. The region has now had 24 deaths from the coronavirus.

     There were also 374 new confirmed cases with the number of active cases jumping to 2,178 including 78 who are hospitalized. The Panhandle has had 4,472 total cases with 2,136 recoveries.

     Dawes County added 14 new cases and 22 recoveries to drop the number of active cases to 85. The county has had 401 total cases and 6 deaths.
