U-S and state flags are once again flying at half-staff across the country, but for the first time in 2 weeks it’s not because of a mass shooting.
This time it’s in honor of 15-term Florida Congressman Alcee Hastings, who passed away yesterday.
It’s also for a shorter period as it ends at sunset today.
The previous two half-staff declarations from President Biden and the nation’s governors had been after the shootings in Georgia and Colorado.
