Flags Flying At Half-Staff Until Sunset Tues For Slain Capitol Police Officer

Unfortunately, U-S and state flags across the country are once again flying at half-staff in response to an act of violence.

A Capitol Police officer was killed yesterday after a man rammed a car into 2 officers at a barricade outside the Capitol in Washington, then got out wielding a knife.

Killed were the suspect and Office William “Billy” Evans, an 18-year veteran who was a member of the Capitol Police first responders unit. Authorities said the attack did not appear to be related to terrorism.

The crash and shooting happened at a security checkpoint near the Capitol with Congress out on recess.

Under the proclamations of honor and memory issue by President Biden and the nation’s governors, flags will fly at half-staff until sunset next Tuesday, April 6
