Florence Black Tail Deer was born on September 17, 1949 at home near Manderson, SD to Thomas and Louisa (Flying Hawk) Black Tail Deer. Florence made her journey to the Spirit World on July 29, 2022 in Irene, SD.
Florence is survived by her brother, James Black Tail Deer of Irene, SD; nieces & nephews, Leroy, Gordon, Alex, and Richard Looks Twice all of Manderson, SD, Scott Black Tail Deer of Flagstaff, AZ, James Spotted Bear, John and Alvin Little Moon, Louise DeSersa of White Horse Creek, SD, Claridean Black Tail Deer of Sioux Falls, SD, Carla Sleeping Bear of Manderson, SD, Juanita Black Tail Deer of Flagstaff, AZ, Karen Brown Bull, Crystal, Martin, Steve, Martin, & Alton Black Tail Deer all of Manderson, SD; and Violet Yankton of Sturgis, SD.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Louisa Black Tail Deer; siblings, Alva Looks Twice, Celine Black Tail Deer, Jane Black Tail Deer, Alexander Black Tail Deer, Moses Black Tail Deer, and William “Billy” Jumping Eagle; brother-in-law, Leroy Looks Twice, Sr. nephew, Calvin Looks Twice; and nieces, Adriana Black Tail Deer and Elizabeth Jeanette Looks Twice.
Pallbearers will be Henry Clifford, Martin Black Tail Deer, Jr., Alvin Little Moon, Lance Black Tail Deer, Alex Looks Twice, Jr., and Nevada Janis.
