Funeral services for 67-year old Florence “Chick” Red Dog are Thurs, Jan 13, at 2:00 at Joyner Hall in Pine Ridge, SD, with with Pastor Dan Johnson officiating.
Burial is at the Holy Rosary Mission Catholic Cemetery in Pine Ridge.
A one-night wake service starts Wed, Jan 12, at 1:00, also at Joyner Hall in Pine Ridge.
Florence “Chick” Red Dog was born on August 26, 1954 in Rapid City, SD to Huron Red Dog, Sr. and Amelia Good Buffalo. Florence made her journey to the Spirit World on January 4, 2022 at the Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD.
Florence is survived by her sister, Estelline Black Feather of Pine Ridge, SD; nieces & nephews, Jeri Black Feather, Troylene Black Feather, Ernest James White, and Christopher G. White; sister-in-law, JoAnn Black Feather; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, Huron Red Dog, Sr. and Amelia Good Buffalo; son, Derek Red Dog; siblings, Georgie Ann White-Ghost-Red Dog, Huron J. Red Dog, and Betty Mesteth; niece, Antoinette Mesteth; nephews, Everette Gene White and Nathan J. Red Dog-Black Feather; and brother-in-law, Roy J. Black Feather.
