The University of Nebraska Board of Regents has unanimously approved Florida International University Dean of Business Joanne Li as the next chancellor at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
The 56-year old Li will be the first Asian American to hold an executive leadership position at any of the University of Nebraska campuses. .
University President Ted Carter says the 56-year-old Li is a proven leader with a record of significant accomplishments at Florida International, the nation’s 4th-largest public university.
. Carter says an example of that is the graduation rate in the College of Business, which under Dean Li improved from 29% in 2017 to what is expected to be a 70% rate this year.
