  9-term Nebraska 1st District Congressman Jeff Fortenberry has asked a federal judge for a 2-month delay in his trial on lying to FBI agents to give his attorneys more time to prepare.
     The prosecution has not objected to moving the trial in U-S District Court in Los Angeles from Dec 14 to February 15 with a final pre-trial conference on February 8.
     The motion filed last week says Fortenberry’s legal team requested more time to review more than 11,600 pages of government evidence and more than 50 audio/visual recordings.
. Fortenberry was indicted last month for lying to the FBI and concealing information on illegal campaign donations at a California fundraiser from a Nigerian billionaire in 2016.
