Because of high sales, the estimated jackpot for tonight’s Mega Millions® Lotto drawing has been increased to $685 million dollars, the 4th largest in the game’s history, or $347.8 million with the cash option selected.
The Mega Millions jackpot starts at $20 million and continues to grow each drawing until it is won. There have been 21 drawings since October 18 without a jackpot winner.
Historically, once the jackpot reaches a certain size, tickets sales start increasing. The Nebraska Lottery sold over 134,000 Mega Millions tickets last week, a jump of 19% from the week before, and the number is expected to jump again this week.
