German Industrialist To Lead New Nebraska DED Office In Germany Posted by John Axtell Date: May 29, 2020 2 Views LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) – Nebraska is expanding its economic presence abroad by opening a Dept of Economic Development office in Germany similar to its Nebraska Center Japan international office. Nebraska Center Nebraska will be led by highly-respected German industrialist Dr Theo Freye, the retired CEO of CLAAS, a $4.5 billion family-owned agricultural machinery firm headquartered in Germany. Freye led the creation of CLAAS North America in Omaha, which is now the corporation’s North American headquarters. Gov Pete Ricketts says Freye’s work in Omaha has given him “invaluable experience cultivating partnerships between American and German businesses.” DED Director Anthony Goins says Nebraska is increasingly involved in Germany and hopes to build on, with Freye’s help, the momentum of Ricketts trade mission there last November.
