Gordon Not Happy With GOP Central Committee Call To End Pandemic State Of Emergency

Wyoming Republican Governor Mark Gordon says he disagrees with a state GOP resolution calling on him to rescind the state of emergency in place since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.

Gordon calls the recent State Republican Central Committee resolution a “very unfortunate choice,” telling the Wyoming Tribune Eagle the state of emergency makes it easier for hospitals to get resources to deal with the virus.

The Wyoming Dept of Health reported 577 new cases yesterday along with 512 recoveries and no deaths, pushing the number of active cases to 6,623 and the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 29,966.

Wyoming has had 230 COVID-19 related deaths and on Tuesday had a record 247 coronavirus hospitalizations. Gordon himself tested positive last week, but has experienced only mild symptoms.
