Gordon-Rushville Rolls Crawford

The Gordon-Rushville Mustangs defeated the Crawford boys’ and girls’ basketball teams Tuesday night.

In the boys’ contest, the Mustangs scored half of their final 63 points in the first quarter on a 32-6 run. The Rams were never able to score more than seven in a quarter in the 63-20 loss. Gordon-Rushville had four players in double digits: Jace Nelson, 14, Donovan Fillmore, 12, Ellis Livingston, 11, and Carter Anderson, 11. Mitch Knode led the Rams with 6.

When it was the girls’ turn on the hardwood, the Mustangs earned a 61-35 victory after opening up the game with a 22-13 run. Gordon-Rushville scored in double digits each quarter, while the Rams only managed that feat in the first and third periods. Three Mustangs were in double digits, led by Jayla Brehmer with 19, who also had 13 rebounds for a double-double. Haley Johnson added 16, and Anadia McKimmey contributed 14. Jasmine Dyer poured in 20 of Crawford’s 35 points.
