Gordon-Rushville’s Bruns Earns Repeat Trip To State Golf

Gordon-Rushville senior Abigail Bruns has clinched a spot at the Class C girls state golf meet after a 6th place finish at the C-5 district meet at Crandell Creek in Ogallala on Monday.

Bruns round of 95 was just four strokes outside of the top three.

It will be the 2nd consecutive trip for Bruns who tied for 64th last year with a two day score of 219.

Payton Wise of Kimball ran away from the tourney field with a round of 76, 12 strokes better than 2nd place.

Mtichell won the team title with a 386. Valentine was runner-up with a 392 and Kimball was 3rd with a 394.

The Class C state golf meet will be next Monday and Tuesday at the Elks Country Club in Columbus.
