Gov Ricketts Proclaims Nebraska As a “Second Amendment Sanctuary State”

Governor Pete Ricketts has signed a proclamation designating Nebraska as a “Second Amendment Sanctuary State.”  The proclamation is symbolic with no force of law.

In the proclamation, Ricketts says President Joe Biden and Congressional Democrats have announced their intention to pursue measures that he believes would infringe on the right to keep and bear arms.

The governor also says in it that “Nebraska will stand up against federal overreach and attempts to regulate gun ownership and use in the Good Life.”

The proclamation comes as over 50 Nebraska counties have passed resolutions of support for the Second Amendment that declare themselves as Second Amendment Sanctuary Counties that won’t enforce federal limits.
