Hard Rock International To Open Rocksino In Deadwood

The Hard Rock Cafe, or at least a scaled-down version of it, is coming to Deadwood.

Hard Rock International says it’s opening the Rocksino in August, offering its renowned brand of entertainment with a casino twist.

General Manager Rich Turbiville says the Rocksino in the former Hickok’s Hotel and Gaming location will feature a full-service bar and restaurant, live music, 86 slot machines and 22 hotel rooms.

The grand opening August 8th will be marked by a live performance from Sublime with Rome, accompanied by their tradition of a guitar-smashing ceremony.

Turbiville says Hard Rock International “just fell in love with the Black Hills and wanted to be a part of it,” adding that “the history, the mystique of Deadwood, and the Gold Rush days just goes hand in hand with what they try to promote worldwide.”

Turbiville says the location of the Rocksino – next to the city-owned Outlaw Square performance site – is great since one of Hard Rock’s specialties is bringing in great musical entertainment. He calls it “a natural match.”
