High School Winter Sports Begin On Thursday Posted by Jeremy Anderson Date: December 02, 2020 137 Views It’s the eve of the high school basketball season tipping off around the state of Nebraska. Chadron’s boys and girls will head to the valley for the Western Conference Tournament hosted at Scottsbluff and Gering on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Because of conflicting schedules, we will carry the Chadron boys game against Scottsbluff at 4:00 pm from Gering High School on Thursday afternoon on AM 610 KCSR, Chadrad.com, and the KCSR App. The Lady Cardinals on the other hand will open tournament play against Mitchell, also at 4:00 pm from Scottsbluff High School. We will announce Friday and Saturday’s coverage the morning of those of those contests dependent upon Thursday’s results. Crawford will host Sioux County in a boy/girl double header tomorrow night. Sioux County’s girls, coming off of a district final appearance last season, are a preseason top 10 team in Class D2 according to some publications. Hay Springs will wait until Friday to begin the season when they travel to Cody-Kilgore. Gordon-Rushville is also waiting until Friday when they host Hemingford. Thursday will also begin the wrestling season with a couple of duals along Highway 20. Crawford is at Hemingford while Chadron will host Gering. Gordon-Rushville and Hay Springs will both head to the Mullen Invitational on Saturday.
