A 2-night wake service starts Monday, May 24, at 5:30 CT, also at Father Paul Hall in Mission with evening prayers at 7:00 CT each night.
Iris Love (Swalley) Siers was born on December 2, 1939 in Rosebud, SD to Ethel Theresa (Menard) Swalley and Eli Henry Swalley. Iris made her journey to the Spirit World on May 18, 2021 at the White River Health Care Center in White River, SD.
Iris is survived by her children, Theresa Ethel (Jim) Swalley-Poignee, Alexander Eli Siers, Sr., Valeria Ann Siers and Kimberly Siers-Thompson; brother, Wayne (Katheryn) Running Horse; grandchildren, Trent, Jaime, Theresa, Ieshia, Tara and Brent Poignee, Eli, Rikki Lynn, and Arlene Love Siers, Arcy and Jodi Beardt, Coni Jo Jansen, Thomas and Cassandra Valandra; 32 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and friends.
Iris was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel Theresa (Menard) Swalley and Eli Henry Swalley; sisters, Virginia Brave Hawk-Stranger Horse, Alfreda Swalley-Bordeaux, Louella Swalley-Grinnell, Vera Swalley-Bordeaux, Judy Swalley and Lillian Swalley-Rouillard; brothers, John Gabriel Brave Hawk, Adam Swalley, Warren Swalley, Harold Menard, Larry Cortez and Cyril Butch Pawnee; stepmother, Sally Swalley; father of her children, Earl Joseph Siers; and grandchildren, Jessica Poignee and Alexander Siers, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Trent Poignee, Arcy Beardt, Eli Siers, Thomas Valandra, Jesus Duran, BobbyLee Hill, Brenden Siers and Jordan Poignee.
