Funeral services for 61-year old Ivan Paul Spotted Calf Sr are Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at noon at the St Francis Community Center in St Francis, SD, with Mr Les Olsen the officiant and traditional Lakota Services by Mr Junior Bordeaux
Burial is St Charles Catholic Cemetery in St. Francis.
A one-night wake service starts Monday, August 9, at 10:00, also at the St. Francis Community Center
Ivan Paul Spotted Calf Sr was born on April 25, 1960, in Spring Creek, SD to Stanley Leroy Spotted Calf Sr and Marie Cecilia (Iyotte) Spotted Calf. Ivan made his journey to the Spirit World on July 29, 2021 in Hobbs, NM.
Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, Marie Cecilia (Iyotte) Spotted Calf and Stanley Spotted Calf, Sr.; brothers, Amos Spotted Calf and Stanley Spotted Calf, Jr.; and twin granddaughters, Angelita Isabela and Cecilia Maria Gonzalez.
Ivan is survived by his daughters, Maria Lee Rendon and Frances Rose Guerue; son, Jeremy Spotted Calf and Ivan Spotted Calf, Jr.; siblings, Dawn Bordeaux, Iris (Freddy) Ortiz, and Faith Rock; and grandchildren, Aracely Rendon-Guerue, John Lopez-Guerue, Maricela Rendon-Guerue, Mercedes Leon-Guerue, William Rendon, Cecilia Spotted Calf, Yaretzi Iviiana Rendon, Jakobi Spotted Calf, and Jakari Spotted Calf.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Spotted Calf, Aracely Rendon-Guerue, John Lopez-Guerue, Vernon “Junior” Bordeaux, Andy Martinez, Austin Iyotte, Daniel Left Hand Bull, and Johnathon Spotted Elk.
Honorary pallbearers will be Arlene Black Spotted Horse, Steve Stands, Rick Young, Rick White Hat, all Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Sisters, Family, and Friends.
