Graveside services for 52-year old Jason Sun Bear are Friday, Jan 22, 2021 at 3:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Wounded Knee, SD, with Pastor Julie Jealous of Him officiating and traditional Lakota services by Mr Mike Little Boy Sr

Viewing precedes the service from noon till 3:00 at the Church of God in Wounded Knee

Jason Daniel Sun Bear was born on January 16, 1968 in Pine Ridge, SD to Alvana Sun Bear and Eugene War Bonnett. Jason made his journey to the Spirit World on January 11, 2021 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.

Jason is survived by his sons, Shayne Red Star and Jason Sun Bear, Jr.; siblings, Marvin Little Moon of Alameda, CA, Elden Little Moon of Wounded Knee, SD, Donna Little Moon of Sacramento, CA, and Leslie Dung of Springfield, MO; stepbrothers, Toby Shot To Pieces, Kelly Little Moon and Jamie Little Moon, all of Wounded Knee, SD, and Roxanne Little Moon of Kearney, NE; stepmom, Julie Shot To Pieces; aunts, Sharon (Lowe) Sun Bear and Melinda Sun Bear-Stead, both of Rosebud, SD, Mary Jane Bastion of Sacramento, CA and Cecelia Spotted Bear of Fast Horse Creek, Wounded Knee, SD; and uncle, Walter Little Moon of North Carolina.

Jason was preceded in death by his parents, Alvana Sun Bear and Eugene War Bonnett; grandparents, Daniel Sun Bear, Rose No Leaf-Sun Bear, Rose (Iron Teeth) Little Moon, and Aloysius Little Moon; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Terrance Little Moon, Wakinyan Little Moon, Ted Pourier, Sr., Toby Little Moon, Randy Lowe, Sr., John Black Calf, and Calvin Black Calf, Sr.

Honorary pallbearers will be All Friends & Relatives.
