Jonas Old Horse was born on June 20, 1977 in Pine Ridge, SD to Faron Old Horse and Cordelia (Turning Hawk) Old Horse. Jonas made his journey to the Spirit World on February 2, 2021 at his home in Kyle, SD.
Jonas is survived by his parents, Faron and Cordelia Old Horse; sons, Jared (Autumn) Old Horse of Rapid City, SD and Trenton Old Horse of Kyle, SD; daughters, Shaylynn (Eddie) Bull Bear, Eva Bull Bear, and Timory Bull Bear, all of Kyle, SD; siblings, Rose Old Horse of Kyle, SD, Wayne (Grace)Turning Hawk of Rapid City, SD, Verlin (Eileen) Old Horse, Jason (TJ) Old Horse, Sonny (Shantel) Old Horse, Asay (Alex) Old Horse, and Emma (Rusty) Old Horse, all of Kyle, SD; 3 grandchildren – Bryson, Braxton and Jaream; maternal grandparents, Emma Turning Hawk, Viola Broken Leg, and Dorothy Broken Leg, all of Kyle, SD; and cousins, Denise (Ed) Harris of Rapid City, SD, Amy (Tuko) Poor Bear, Janet (Elliott) Harris and Philip (Marla) Poor Bear, all of Kyle, SD.
Jonas was preceded in death by his grandmother, Bertha Broken Leg; grandfather, Asay Turning Hawk; aunt, Donna Turning Hawk; cousin, Janelle One Horn; great grandparents, Ralph Old Horse and Emma White Elk; and father-in-law, Timothy Bull Bear.
