Killer Defeats Bear Runner For OST Presidency

The Oglala Sioux Tribe will have a new president and vice president, according to unofficial tallies from the tribe of Tuesday’s general election.

The next OST President will be former state lawmaker Kevin Killer with Dr Alicia Mousseau his vice president.

Killer received 2,284 votes or 67% of the vote to 1,117 for embattled incumbent President Julian Bear Runner.

Bear Runner earlier this year survived an impeachment vote and was suspended twice by the tribal council. He’s also awaiting trial on drunk driving charges.

Mousseau, a doctor of clinical psychology, got 1,973 votes, or 57% to beat retired educator, former OST president, and Lakota Nation Invitational founder Bryan Brewer, who had 1,512 votes.
