Funeral services for 31-year old Latoya Mauri Hollow Horn are Wed, March 3, 2021 at 1:00 at the Messiah Episcopal Church in Wounded Knee, SD, with The Reverend Harold Eagle Bull officiating and traditional Lakota services by Mr Waylon Black Crow Sr.

Burial is at the Messiah Episcopal Cemetery in Wounded Knee

A one-night wake starts Tues, March 2, 2021 at 2:00 at the Messiah Episcopal Church in Wounded Knee

Latoya Mauri Hollow Horn  “Wawokiya Win” was born on August 25, 1989 in Pine Ridge, SD to Sandra Pawnee Leggins and Reginald Hollow Horn. Latoya made her journey to the Spirit World on February 23, 2021 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.

Latoya was a genuinely nice, friendly person whoe had a good life and loved her children very much. 

In her earlier years, Latoya attended school at Wounded Knee District School and later went to Little Wound High School. She worked at Super Foods in Gordon, NE, Whiteclay Grocery and Bow-K’s. She loved baking cakes. Latoya is greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Latoya is survived by her children, Angel Hollow Horn, Aaron and Alyssa Yellow Boy; father, Reginal Hollow Horn; brothers, Eric (Jennifer) Hollow Horn, Darren (Augusta) Hollow Horn, and Joseph Pawnee Leggins; special friend, Sheridan Shott; grandmother, Christine Hollow Horn; aunts, Trina Hollow Horn, Debbie Hollow Horn and Rosie Pawnee Leggins; uncles, Alton (Sarah) Black Tail Deer, Harold (Harriett) Hollow Horn, and Paul Pawnee Leggins; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Latoya was preceded in death by her mother, Sandra Pawnee Leggins; son, Michael Red Cloud; aunts, Sara Pawnee Leggins and Anita Hollow Horn; uncles, Wilson Pawnee Leggins and Adrian Hollow Horn; cousins, Daniel Hollow Horn and Krissy Black Crow; and grandparents, Harold Hollow Horn, David and Agnes Pawnee Leggins.

Pallbearers will be Berdell Shott, Jr., Lyndon Hollow Horn, Beau Black Crow, Byron White Dress, Andy Pawnee Leggins, Davis Ghost, Jolita Morrison, and Leo Takes War Bonnet, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Maya Black Crow & Family, Sheila (Frank) Black Crow-Medicine, Waylon Black Crow, Jr., Carla Sleeping Bear & Family, Marlita Morrison & Family, Chrystal Clifford, Ghost Family, Pawnee Leggins Family, Buckman Family, and All Friends & Relatives.
