Graveside services for 37-year old Laura Lee Catches are Tues, April 27, 2021 at 1:30 PM at the Catches Family Cemetery in Calico Community, SD, with Father Brad Held, S.J., officiating and traditional Lakota services by Mr Mike Catches
Visitation precedes the services from 11:00-1:00 at the Sioux Funeral Home in Pine Ridge, SD.
Laura Lee Catches was born on December 7, 1983 in Pine Ridge, SD to Arvella Catches and Marvin Afraid of Bear. Laura made her journey to the Spirit World on April 17, 2021 near Manderson, SD.
Laura is survived by her mother, Arvella Catches; children, Louis Floyd Bear Eagle, Jr., Dakota Rose Catches-Ornelas, Aliana Catches-Ornelas, and Haleyana Catches-Ornelas; sister, Mary Catches; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Laura was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Afraid of Bear; brother, Thomas Joseph Catches; grandparents, Everett Catches, Sr. and Hildegard (Respects Nothing) Catches; uncles, Martin Catches, Sr., Gaylord Catches, Sr., Elroy Catches, Sr., and Marvin Catches; and aunt, Doreen Richards.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Catches, Martin Catches, Jr., Robert Catches, Joseph Catches, Thomas James Catches, Mark New Holy, Chris New Holy, John Ash, Augustine Taylor, and Kevin Catches.
Honorary pallbearers will be all friends & relatives.
