Levi H. Blair was born on March 13, 1935 to Arista Blair and Ella Reese Blair in Vail, Iowa. He passed away on July 4, 2020, of natural causes at Pioneer Manor in Hay Springs, NE, with his sons by his side,

Levi graduated from Vail High School in 1955 and joined the United States Marine Corp the same year. He was released from duty in 1959 and continued in the Reserves until 1961.

Levi married Geraldine Suntken in 1960 and they made their home in Vail with their two sons, Richard and James.

Coming out of the service, Levi worked for several years for Marvin Provisions of Vail as a meat salesman before transferring to Boyer Provision of Sioux City, Iowa.

That gave him the opportunity to move to Gordon, NE, in 1970 as a salesman for Boyer’s out of the Nebraska Beef packing plant in Gordon

Once settled in Gordon, he was united in marriage to Ethel Landreth in 1973, gaining a son, David.

After selling meat for some time, owner Rudy Stanko Sr hired Levi for maintenance at the packing plant where he worked with Leland (Prudy) Pruden.

In the early 80’s, he founded Blair Plumbing and operated it until 2012. Even after selling the plumbing business, he was frequently called on for advice.

In his spare time, Levi supported his wife Ethel in many endeavors which highlighted her love of baking and his gift of visiting. Setting up a food truck for local auctions kept them both very busy.

Levi was preceded in death by his wife Ethel, his parents, brothers Andrew, William, Richard and an infant sister Dorothy.

Those remaining to cherish his memory include his sons, Richard (Connie) of Frazee, MN, James (Patty) of Lake Ozark, MO and David (Kay) of Elwood, NE. Many nieces and nephews along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
