Funeral services for 42-year old Liberty Jo Adams are Wed, May 11, 2022 at 11:00 at the Porcupine Presbyterian Church in Porcupine, SD.
Burial is at the Bear Runner Family Cemetery in Porcupine.
A two-night wake service starts Monday, May 9, at 12:30 at the Porcupine Presbyterian Church.
Liberty Jo Adams was born June 12, 1979 in Rapid City, SD to ina Lillian Bear Runner and ate Leon Adams Sr. Liberty made her journey to the Spirit World on May 1, 2022 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City.
Liberty attended preschool at the Pine Ridge Headstart and grade school at St. Joseph’s Indian School in Chamberlain, SD. She later graduated from Crow Creek High School in 1997. She worked various jobs for the Oglala Sioux Tribe.
Liberty is survived by her chunksi’s, Lilleighanna Quintana, Liyah Adams, and Dora Shangreaux, All of Rapid City; chinksi, Leighton Shangreau; mitankalas, Amber Adams and Sarah Adams; cuwe, Marla Richards; misunkala, Alton Adams and Leons Adams Jr; ciye, Marvin Richard Jr; ate, Leon Adams Sr; tuwin’s, Beldine White Eyes, and Dorothy Sandoval; leksi’s, Ramon Bear Runner and Dennis Bear Runner; and takoja’s, Aizen Adams, Oaklyn Blacksmith, Evianna Jumping Eagle, Oliver Jumping Eagle, and Teigan Jumping Eagle.
