Funeral services for 49-year old Lori Ann Mesteth are Friday, Nov 6, 2020 from 1-5:00 PM at the Angel Flying Hawk residence – 2617 Castle Heights Place in Rapid City, SD, with Pastor Matt Hadden officiating and traditional Lakota services by Mr David Claymore

A one-night wake service starts Thursday, Nov 5, 2020 at 4:00 PM at the #9 Community Church in Manderson, SD.
Lori Ann E Mesteth “Wamniomni Luta Wi” was born on October 16, 1973 in Pine Ridge, SD. to Levi Mesteth, Sr. and Audrey P. Apple. Lori made her journey to the Spirit World on October 27, 2020 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City.
Lori was born at the old hospital in Pine Ridge and attended Chadron Elementary and Manderson Day school. After elementary, Lori was sent to live with a Mormon family in a small community called Greenwood in La Grande, Oregon. While in Oregon, Lori was a country girl tending to the farming needs.
Upon her return to South Dakota from Oregon, Lori attended and graduated from Rapid City Central High School in Rapid City, SD.
She went on to attend the Oglala Lakota College. receiving a bachelor’s degree in business administration, and attended National American University to obtain her Associates Degree in accounting.
Throughout her entire life, Lori was a caretaker for many. Many have the respect of her calling her Mama Lori, Mom, Auntie and sister.
She will be remembered as a selfless angel, always eager to be a listening ear or a helping hand. No will ever compare to the weight she cared in her children, grandchildren and families’ lives.
Lori is survived by her mother, Audrey P. Apple; daughters, Kayla (Daniel) Mesteth, Sarah (Monty) Amiotte, Kimberly LaDeaux, and Iyanna Amiotte; sons, Taylor Amiotte, Andrew Amiotte, Wakinyan Mesteth, John Amiotte, and Mark Amiotte; siblings, Roberta (Kirk) Little Dog, Denise (Deno) Four Horn, Amy & Heather Steele, and Wesley Steele; grandchildren, Treasure Brave Heart, Taycee Brave Heart-Clifford, Royal Blue Clifford, Diyari, Shea, and Marvin Regis Amiotte, Levi, Lileigh, Iziayah, Izaak, Angel Rose Amiotte, Celeste, Amora, Phillip, Nate, Johntay, & Kimmimilia LaDeaux.
Lori was preceded in death by her father, Levi Mesteth, Sr.; sister, Catherine Little Dog; brothers, Robert & Steve Little Dog; nephew, Eliseo Aaron Steele; and maternal grandparents, Paul & Stella Apple-King.
Pallbearers will be Jerome Brown Bull, Cisco Cottier, Levi (Lalita) Apple, Kyle (Lauren) Little Dog, Troy Red Cloud, Sr., and Kevin Ramos, Jr.
