Graveside services for 44-year old Mandy Sioux Janis are Thurs, Nov 19, 2020 at 3:00 PM at the Merrival Family Cemetery near Pine Ridge, SD, with traditional Lakota services by Mr Mike Little Boy, Jr.
Visitation precedes the services from 11:30 ~ 3:00 PM at the Merrival residence, 306 Sioux Nation Ave in Pine Ridge, SD.
Mandy Sioux Janis was born on November 6, 1976 in Pine Ridge, SD to Sheryl Merrival and Kenneth “Brown Boy” Janis. Mandy made her journey to the Spirit World on November 11, 2020 in Pine Ridge, SD.
Mandy is survived by her mother, Sheryl Merrival; children, Jacob Jumping Eagle, Starla Jumping Eagle, Danni Joan Jumping Eagle, Jaden Jumping Eagle and Shyann Jumping Eagle; siblings, Artie Merrival, Dusty Merrival, Donny “Droops” Merrival, Stephanie (Bryan Castiano) Twiss, Justine (Billy Beane) Twiss, Michelle (Kyle Good Lance) Twiss and Rudolph (Hannah American Horse) Twiss, Jr.; grandchildren, Xavier, Sabrina and Amelia; grandfather, Joseph “Poker Joe” (Abby Quiver) Merrival; special friend, Jay Janis; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousins.
Mandy was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth “Brown Boy” Janis; step-father, Rudolph Twiss, Sr.; daughter, Dusti Rose Jumping Eagle; brother, Warren Merrival; uncle, Artie Merrival; aunts, Holly Jo “Sissy” Merrival and Charlene Janis; and grandmother, Patricia “Grandma Patty” Mesteth.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Good Lance, Warren Merrival, AJ Merrival, Billy Beane, Fernando White Butterfly, Waylon Janis, Larry Gayton and Brent John Janis.
Honorary Pallbearers will be All Friends & Relatives.
