Funeral services for 85-year old Mary “Jean” Seidler are Friday, August 20, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Alliance.

Visitation is Thursday, August 19, starting at 7:00, also at the United Methodist Church.

Mary “Jean” Seidler was born in Alliance on July 20, 1936, the 4th of 11 children of Railey and Mary Koozer. She was called home to her Lord and Savior on August 12th, 2021, after a short battle with lung cancer.

Jean attended country school and graduated from Alliance High School, then attended a business college in Denver, CO. Upon returning to Alliance she met the love of her life in Wilbur Seidler.

Jean and Wilbur were married on Oct. 20, 1955, and moved to the Seidler family ranch east of Alliance where they raised four children. Jean and Wilbur spent the next 57 years raising and loving their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Family meant everything to Jean and her face would light up with joy every time she got to hold her grandbabies.

She also loved to garden and couldn’t wait to taste that first cucumber or tomato. She had a love of flowers, as evidenced by the numerous flowerbeds in her yard.

Jean also raised another set of kids working at Grocery Kart, teaching them to work hard and always do a good job.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wilbur, an infant daughter Linda, a brother and several sisters.

She is survived by her children; Susan (Douglas) Reed of Maryville, MO; Daniel (Carolyn) Seidler of Alliance; Melanie (Steve) Schnose of Buffalo Gap, SD; and Craig (Wendy) Seidler of Alliance; her grandchildren: Robert Reed, Angela (Lance) Nelson, Jon (MacKenzie) Reed, Jennifer Haleakala, Sara (Colin) Hansen, Tyler (Barbara) Seidler, Sarah (Troy) Lunbery, Courtney (Edison) Red Nest, Josh (Shalyn) Barber, Rebekah (Joe) Hoof, Josie (Daniel) Quick, and Bradan Seidler; 32 great grandchildren and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
