Funeral services for 74-year old Matthew “Mato” Red Paint are Thurs, April 8, 2021 at 1:00 at St John’s Episcopal Church near Oglala, SD, with Reverend Deacon Twila Two Bulls officiating
Burial is at the St. John’s Cemetery in Oglala
Visitation precedes the services from 10:00 – 1:00, also at St John’s Episcopal Church.
Matthew “Mato” Albert Red Paint was born on April 19, 1946 at home in Oglala, SD to Ross and Lorenda (Running Bear) Red Paint. Matthew made his journey to the Spirit World on March 31, 2021 at the Oglala Sioux Lakota Nursing Home in White Clay, NE.
Matthew is survived by his siters, Lavina and Heristine Red Paint both of Colorado; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Matthew was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Lorenda Red Paint; and brother, Andrew Red Paint.
Pallbearers will be Walt Dreaming Bear, Eric Mabin, Brian Kindle, Norman Bianas, William Makes Him First, and Daniel New Holy.
Honorary pallbearers will be all friends & relatives.
