CASPER, Wyo. (AP) – The mayor of the small Cheyenne suburb of Evansville who resigned after being charged with misusing a police data base has also pleaded guilty to those charges.
The resignation of Jennifer Sorenson turns out to be part of her plea agreement on the misdemeanor count.
Charging documents say Sorenson asked a police officer to use department software to conduct background checks on potential job candidates for a company she managed.
The officer, Matt McGraw, also entered a guilty plea but to drug possession as well as conspiracy to misuse public office.
