More FEMA Help For Oglala Lakota County Under Winter Storm Disaster Declaration

Loading

FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, has approved more help for three South Dakota counties, including Oglala Lakota, under the Presidential Disaster Declaration issued for December’s winter storm.

Oglala Lakota and Jackson counties now qualify for Snow Removal assistance in addition to their earlier approval for the Public Assistance Program.

The Snow Removal program allows local jurisdictions to be reimbursed for the costs of a 48-hour period of snow removal activities.

The third county approved for more FEMA aid, Ziebach, can now tap into the PUblic Assistance Program like Oglala Lakota and Jackson.

The Presidential Disaster Declaration issued earlier this year allows FEMA to help South Dakota local governments recover from infrastructure damage sustained as a result of the severe winter storm.
