The White River Wacipi traditional intertribal gathering is taking place this Saturday and Sunday at the Crawford city park. The wacipi is meant as a celebration of people through song, dance, and drum.
Festivities will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday morning with exhibits, activities, vendors, and games. Grand march along with dances and ceremonies will get underway at noon.
A dinner will be held at 6:00 pm Saturday evening.
Sunday’s lineup starts with breakfast at 9:00 am followed by church services at 10:00 am.
Dance and ceremonies will resume at noon. Sunday will also include environmental programs and a memorial run in honor of COVID-19 victims.
The two day event is open to the public and free tent camping is available.
