As expected, the Natrona County Commissioners have approved the sale of the county-owned Wyoming Medical Center in Casper to Banner Health, which will add the facility to its growing nationwide heath care system.
The two sides had announced the roughly $200-million dollar deal earlier this year and the county commissioners’ vote on Thursday came after the hospital’s separate nonprofit board gave its approval.
Under the deal, Natrona County will receive $120 million dollars with about $40 million going to the hospital foundation. Banner is also absorb $50 million in debt remaining from construction of Wyoming Medical and its purchase of Mountain View Regional Hospital.
