High sales have pushed the estimated jackpot for tonight’s Mega Millions drawing to $520-million dollars – $383.4-million if the cash option is selected.
Tomorrow’s Powerball jackpot is almost as big, estimated at $470-million or $362.7-million cash.
This is the third time Mega Millions and Powerball have simultaneously had jackpots larger than $400 million, but neither jackpot is close to the record for that game. It would be the 8th-biggest for Mega Millions and the 10th for Powerball.
The largest Mega Millions jackpot on record was in October 2018 at $1.537 billion while Poweball’s top jackpot was slightly bigger – $1.586 billion in Jan 2016. There was one winning Mega Millions ticket and 3 for Powerball.
Both Powerball and Mega Millions have had 32 consecutive drawings with no one claiming the top prize.
