Neb COVID Dashboard Back Up; 121,681 Vaccinations So Far

      The Nebraska Coronavirus Dashboard is back in operation after 2 days of maintenance and system updates, and it shows 2,292 new cases and 26 deaths since Monday.

      There were 52,956 active cases Thursday evening, 389 fewer than on Monday, with 421 hospitalized cases, the fewest since Oct 21st. 30% of Nebraska’s hospital beds remain available along with 32% of ICU beds and 76% of ventilators. 

       Panhandle Unified Command reported 31 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 8,206 including 300 confirmed in the last 14 days. There were also 15 deaths reported, bringing that count to 173..

     There are 13 hospitalized COVID cases, but 47% of all hospital beds in the Panhandle remain available along with 25% of ICU beds and 91% of ventilators.

     Dawes County had 5 new cases for a total of 622, including 42 in the last 14 days, and the county has had 17 total deaths. The Chadron school district has had 36 confirmed cases, but none or active and no one is quarantined.

     Chadron State College reported 2 new cases, 1 student and 1 staff, with no recoveries, pushing the number of active cases to 12 with 10 students and 2 staffers. The college has now had 173 total cases, 138 of them students.

       219,104 doses of vaccine have been distributed statewide, including 28,565 since Monday. 121,940 doses have been administered – 14,741 since Monday. 19,839 people have received the 2 doses needed for full effectiveness – 4,270 since Monday.
