Neb National Guard Testing Healthcare Workers, First-Responders In SB

SCOTTSBLUFF – The Nebraska National Guard is testing up to 150 healthcare workers and first-responders in Scotts Bluff County for the coronavirus/COVID-19 today.

The testing is not open to the general public and is instead aimed at healthcare workers and first-responders who are showing symptoms or have had possible exposure to COVID-19.

Officials say it’s important to test both groups because they’re important for community safety but could also be in a position to spread the disease should they become infected.

The Nebraska Dept of Health and Human Services is providing the test kits to the Panhandle Public Health District and Scotts Bluff County Health Department.

PPHD and the National Guard conducted a similar testing effort for 50 healthcare workers and first-responders yesterday in Kimball. Both Kimball and Scotts Bluff Counties have 10 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
