A recent study by Kuru Footwear found the top 10 states for trick-or-treating this Halloween season. Similarly to 2023 results, Nebraska cracked the list again.
โThe night’s forecast calls for a comfortable 61 degrees, providing a cool backdrop for candy-seeking,โ the explanation continued. โPlus, with a low pedestrian death rate of just 1.17 per 100,000 people, it’s also a safe state for trick-or-treaters to hit the streets.โ
Kuru claims ratings were calculated based on pedestrian safety, residents under the age of 18, Google search data related to โHalloweenโ, state โwalkability scoreโ and forecasted temperatures for Halloween evening.
Of course, other ways to stay safe during Hallows Eve- regardless of where- you are include:
- Having children trick-or-treat with an accompanying adult.
- Opting for face paint instead of masks to prevent visual obstruction.
- Making kids wait to eat candy until inspected by adults.
- And wearing layers and warm clothing for cool autumn temperatures.
