Nebraska Reaches Playoff Quarterfinals, SD & Wyo Into Semifinals

The quarterfinals of the Nebraska high school football playoffs are today and feature very little Western Nebraska flavor.

In D6, 2nd seeded Potter-Dix will host Cody-Kilgore in their first meeting of the year. #1 seed Arthur County will face Creek Valley in a rematch of a week seven game won by Creek Valley 64-32.

Sandhills/Thedford is still alive in the D2 bracket and will travel to Pleasanton.

Kearney Catholic, who defeated Chadron in the opening round last week, will play against Auburn.

Meanwhile in South Dakota, playoff semifinals take place today in every class across the state. There are no games locally, but a pair of regional teams are vying for a spot at the Dakota Dome.

Wall is one of three unbeatens left in 9A and will host fellow undefeated Warner. In 9B, Kadoka Area is the top seed and will play Dell Rapids St. Mary.

Championship games begin next week on Thursday, November 12th at the Dakota Dome in Vermillion.

Wyoming is also to the semifinal round of the playoffs.

In 1A 9-man Lusk travels to Rocky Mountain, a team the Tigers lost to 62-50 back on October 9th. Southeast is hosting Shoshoni in the other 1A 9-man semifinal.

Torrington and Upton-Sundance are hosting 2A semifinals. The Blazers welcome Mountain View and the Patriots take on Lyman.

Douglas is hosting Jackson Hole in a 3A semifinal. Championship games start next Friday at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie.
