Nebraska Still Setting Records For COVID-19 Active Cases, Hospitalizations

 Panhandle Unified Command reported another new record for active cases on Wednesday at 1,312 after adding 166 new cases and 44 recoveries.

       The Panhandle has now had 3,018 cases with 16 deaths and 1,690 recoveries.

There are currently 75 COVID-19 patients who are hospitalized.

        There were 20 new cases and 1 recovery in Dawes County, jumping the number of active cases to 86. The county has had 323 total cases, 233 recoveries, and 4 deaths. 

      Chadron State College had no new cases and 1 recovery for 7 active cases, all students. The school has had 78 total cases – 65 students and 13 staff

      The Chadron Public Schools recorded 1 new active case for a total of 5 with 2 at the Intermediate School and 3 at the high school High School. The district has a cumulative total of 28 cases and has 11 individuals currently under quarantine.

      Statewide, Nebraska is approaching 76,000 cases and 700 deaths while continuing to set new records for active cases and hospitalizations. 

       There were 1,828 new cases reported Wednesday along with just 250 recoveries, and 9 deaths. Those figures shot the number of active cases to 29,447 including 698 who are hospitalized. 

        Nebraska has had 75,888 confirmed cases, 669 deaths, and 45,772 recoveries since the start of the pandemic. 

       The percentage of available hospital and ICU beds slipped again to 26% and 28% respectively while respirator availability dipped to 71%.
