New Record For Active COVID-19 Deaths In SD

The South Dakota Dept of Health reported another 412 new COVID-19 cases Sunday to push the total number of cases to 21,541.

There have been 2,849 new cases over the last 7 days

      There were also 360 recoveries for a total of 17,533 but the number of deaths stayed at 218. As a result, the number of active cases rose to a record 3,790 including 216 who are hospitalized. 

       Pennington County had 62 of the new cases on Sunday with 18 in Meade County, 11 in Oglala Lakota, 7 in Lawrence, 3 in Custer, and one in Fall River County.

       The COVID Tracking Project lists South Dakota second in the country behind North Dakota in the number of new cases per capita over the last two weeks.
