12 State Human Trafficking Sweep Rescues 47 Victims And Arrests Over 100 Buyers And Sellers


    A 12-state law enforcement operation involving federal, state, and local law enforcement has rescued 47 victims of human trafficking and led to the arrest of more than 100 people.

      Most of the arrests in Operation United Front were Thursday night into Friday morning in Nebraska, South Dakota, and the other 10 states. 

      The operation used undercover officers who arranged to meet potential human trafficking victims or who posed as victims to identify a buyer or trafficker.

      In Nebraska, sex trafficking investigation took place in Scottsbluff, Kearney, and South Sioux City with one Nebraska man taken into custody for allegedly trying to buy with a 15-year-old girl who was actually an undercover police officer.
