The Nebraska State Fair is underway, running through Labor Day in Grand Island. Executive Director Bill Ogg hopes for a big turnout, saying “there really is nothing more Nebraskan than getting together for the biggest event of the summer.
Ogg says this year’s 4,250-plus hours of entertainment and attractions features a great mix of new and traditional events.
Sporting events include Bull Thirty Freestyle Bullfighting with Horse Nations Indian Relay Races, the Iron on the Island Truck and Tractor Pull and Fair Smashing Fun Demolition Derby.
Concerts feature Modern West – featuring Oscar winner Kevin Costner, Jon Pardi, Skid Row and Warrant, Banda Los Sebastianes, and the Happy Together Tour of The Turtles, The Association, Gary Puckett and the Union Gap, The Classics IV, The Cowsills, and the Vogues.
Tickets for these events can be purchased online or in the State Fair Box Office located in the Nebraska Building.
Admission and carnival tickets are currently available at all Pump & Pantry locations or online at the State Fair website. Entertainment information and a schedule of events can also be found there.
