Accused Carjacker Charged With May Murder On Pine Ridge Reservation

Loading

A man already charged with carjacking using a bat or machete has now been charged with a murder in early May on the Pine Ridge Reservation.

Revelation of the charge against JT Myore in the death of 50-year old Leon Lakota came during Myore’s federal court hearing in Rapid City on the carjacking.

FBI Special Agent Kevin Seymore testified that Myore called police dispatchers in Mitchell on July 3rd, confessed to the murder, and told them he was at a motel in Chamberlain. He was arrested there later by Pennington County Sheriff’s deputies

Federal Judge Daneta Wollmann called the fatal attack on Lakota unprovoked and denied bail for Myore, citing his history of violent crime and failure to follow the rules of bail and probation.

Judge Wollmann said Myore’s record of escalating violence and his status as a murder suspect makes him a danger to society who should not be released before his trial.
