Arrest Made In 174 MPH Chase

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) – The Nebraska State Patrol arrested four people from Illinois Monday night — including a driver accused of leading troopers on a chase exceeding 170 mph the night before.

The patrol says the case began about 24 hours earlier when a trooper tried to pull over a car for speeding on Interstate 80 near York.

The car fled, reaching a speed of 174 mph before troopers laid down spike strips and disabled its tires. The vehicle exited at Gibbon and was later found abandoned at Gibbon High School.

Then Monday night, troopers pulled over a vehicle for undisclosed reasons and found the suspected driver from the chase, 22-year-old Tyler Liles of Creve Couer, was a passenger. He was arrested along with the driver and two other occupants.
