As Temps Stay Warm, NPPD Offers Ways To Cool Your Electric Bill

Loading

As above normal heat continues to plague portions of the midwest, Nebraska Public Power District is asking its consumers to conserve energy.

Tips offered by NPPD include turning your thermostat to 78 degrees in order to save five to ten percent on cooling costs. Use box fans and ceiling fans to move air through your home.

Limit using your heat generating appliances such as a stove or dishwasher for early morning or late evening hours.

Unplug unused electronics, and keep doors, curtains, or blinds closed to avoid sunlight warming the home.

According to the NWS-Cheyenne, temperatures in the tri-state region are expected to stay in the upper-80’s and lower-90’s through much of the weekend and early next week.
