Autopsy Ordered In Unattended Chadron Death, But Foul Play Not Suspected

Dawes County Attorney/Coroner Vance Haug has ordered an autopsy on the body of a Chadron man found dead in his home on the 4th of July after having no contact with anyone for sometime, but foul play is not suspected.

Haug says 65-year old Marc Gering had not been heard from for a number of weeks, so family members went to his home on Sunday to check on him. They found the body about 4:00 PM.

Haug says he ordered the autopsy and a variety of tests to help determine the cause of death for Mr Gering, but that it will be several weeks before all the results are back.
