Baby Zebra Born At Scottsbluff Zoo

The Riverside Discovery Center in Scottsbluff is happily announcing the birth earlier this month of a baby Zebra with mother and son ready to meet the public.

Zoo director Anthony Mason says Zelda, a permanent resident of the RDC, gave birth to the male foal on May 13th with the youngster well, nursing consistently, and putting on weight.

Mason says the goal is expected to fit in well with the herd, which the zoo hopes to grow over the next several years. Zelda and her baby can be seen south of the Chimpanzee building.

The Riverside Discovery Center, with its 23-acre Zoo, Splash Pad, and Museum Without Walls is open 7 days a week, year-round. Summer hours are 9:30-6:30.
