Rain will not get the better of tonight’s Bands on Bordeaux Encore featuring the Devon Worley Band, but the wet weather is moving the concert indoors to the Nelson Physical Activity Center at Chadron State College.
The move to CSC is actually fitting since the Encore concert is sponsored by the school as part of its Move-In and Week of Welcome for new students.
Chadron Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Gabby Michna says the move is making only 1 major change to Bands on Bordeaux – there’s no beer garden because of Nebraska State College alcohol policies.
There will still be kids games and food vendors. The NPAC has bleachers, so seating might not be as limited as it is outdoors at Railroad Park.
This is the second time rain has forced a change in Bands on Bordeaux this summer. The first time, rain and wind arrived about 7:45 and things wrapped up an hour early.
As for tonight’s band, the Devon Worley Band started about 12 years ago, but founder and lead singer Devon Worley told Jeff Wing this morning on KCSR’s Sound Off that it’s been only the last couple years the musicians and music have really come together.
Worley said the members of the band have varied musical backgrounds, but have developed a strong country rock sound with both original songs and covers of hits by other performers.
Again, Bands on Bordeaux is still on tonight from 6:00-9:00, but indoors at the PAC – the Nelson Physical Activity Center at Chadron State College.
