Chadron Asking Residents To Limit Water Use Wed Morning As Water Plant Goes Off-Line

Loading

The city of Chadron is asking residents to conserve water tomorrow, August 4th, from 6 AM to 1 PM during electrical work for installation of a backup generator at the water treatment plant.

Water and Wastewater Superintendent Tom Menke says the plant will be without electricity during the installation and won’t be able to pump water to the city’s storage tanks.

Menke says the tanks have more than enough capacity to meet needs, including firefighting, during the expected 7-hour project as long as residents don’t engage in activities that use a lot of water such as running their sprinklers or washing clothes.

Menke emphasizes the importance of shutting down irrigation and sprinkler systems in particular tomorrow from 6 AM to 1 PM.
